Best of Breed Flexion Battery Makes MaâtCard Acoustic Technology Possible
Lakeland, Fla.—November 9, 2007—Solicore marks their participation in Cartes & IDentification 2007 by announcing the nomination of nCryptone’s MaâtCard by Unipay’s for the SESAMES Award for Innovation in the category “Best E-Transaction Application.” The card is the first hybrid system for universal remote payment, and is powered by Solicore’s paper-thin Flexion® battery. For the first time, consumers have the same security when completing transactions over the phone as they receive from OTP cards during ATM, credit card or online transactions.
The MaâtCard by Unipay’s is a multi-application, multi-component and multi-channel acoustic bank card that uses a one-time sonic password to authenticate transactions conducted over a simple telephone line. Every time a user makes a transaction, the card produces a new acoustic password, increasing the level of security available to customers making transactions by phone. The unique remote and contactless system widens the scope of use for bank cards, allowing users secure access to bank services from anywhere in the world.
According to Philippe Blot, SVP of Global Marketing and Sales at nCryptone, Solicore’s Flexion batteries make this technology possible. “When we were in the testing phase, Solicore’s products stood out as best of breed – their flexibility, superior quality and ultra-thin size allowed nCryptone to engineer the type of useable streamlined card we envisioned. This pioneering technology, coupled with Solicore’s embedded power expertise, proved to be an ideal fit for our company.”
As a worldwide leader in embedded power solutions, Solicore’s commitment to devising cutting-edge technologies to promote network security is clearly reflected in the MaâtCard’s nomination for the SESAMES Award. The SESAMES Awards celebrate the highest standards of innovation and breakthrough technologies in the card manufacturers industry.
“We are extremely proud to be nCryptone’s technology partner on this project,” says David Corey, CEO of Solicore. “Cartes is the most important conference in the Smart Card industry, and we are delighted to see a product powered by our Flexion battery recognized as one of the most influential products on the market today.”
The SESAMES Awards for Innovation will be given during the official reception on November 12, 2007, the eve of the opening day of Cartes & IDentification 2007. Solicore will be in attendance at Cartes from November 13-15, at booth 4M008; nCryptone-Unipay’s will be at booth 4M032.
