SOLICORE DRIVES INDUSTRY GROWTH WITH ENHANCED HIGH-SPEED PRODUCTION LINE

Advancements in the Line Enable Faster Shipment of Larger Orders

Lakeland, FL.—November 3, 2008—Solicore, global leader of embedded power solutions, is setting the pace for the thin-film battery industry by making significant enhancements to the high-speed production line for their ultra-thin flexible Flexion® batteries. Their proprietary high-speed manufacturing process involves comparatively fewer steps than the processes used by other companies, enabling Solicore to produce larger quantities of a higher quality battery. The revamped process is on-line now and Solicore is currently delivering increased volumes of product.

The high-speed production line is more than four times faster than Solicore’s original production equipment, and is capable of producing up to 1.25 million units per month—the equivalent of approximately one battery every two seconds. The production line is fully automated, with in-line measurements and greater process controls that help to ensure maximum product quality.

“In order to keep up with the exponential growth rate of the Flexion battery market, Solicore is continuously working to drive innovation to refine the manufacturing process,” says Solicore CEO David Corey. “Seeing the consistent increase in our customers’ orders, as well as the industry’s potential, we made the strategic decision to align our manufacturing process with the needs of the market to ensure maximum scalability.”

Solicore’s ability to increase production in scale along with market growth makes these enhancements of vital importance to their partners. “We are extremely excited about the positive impact Solicore’s faster production line will have on Identita’s ability to meet our clients’ demands on a global scale,” says Rocky Stefano, CEO and co-founder of Identita, a worldwide provider of identity management solutions and the world’s only time-based OTP credit cards. “Given the variety of platforms we are in the process of developing and launching, Solicore’s enhanced production line will enable us to speed deployment to our customers across all applications.”

The revamping of the high-speed line is especially welcomed in booming markets such as Korea. “Our market is growing so quickly we need to ensure we can keep pace with demand,” says Young-Joo Kim, director of BlueChip ENP Co, LTD, a Korea-based electronic components distributor. “Solicore’s new high-speed line increases our ability to deliver a high-quality power solution for our increasingly growing and demanding client base.”

Solicore will be exhibiting at CARTES and IDentification 2008, November 4-6 in Paris, France at booth 4P010. For more information about Solicore and its Flexion batteries, please visit www.solicore.com
